Mrs. Labriski’s cookies

 Eating well

Like a lot of people, I have sweet tooth … I hate to admit it, but the problem is that I’m the only one of our 4, that has this problem. So, if I want to make a desert or even some cookies and I want all 4 of us to eat some, it has to be a healthy desert. I don’t have much choice, if I don’t want to eat them all myself… and that is really not a good thing.   ; -)

But, this wasn’t always the case. Approximatelty10 years ago, Dan decided to change lifestyle. He started to exercise, eat less and healthier. Briefly, he took back control of his health. He lost 40 pounds in a few months. Since then he continues to train, eats very well and he is in better shape (in his early forties) than he has ever been.

Since he pays attention to what he eats, it has had a positive influence on the rest of the family. Aggy and Alexy also take care of their health by watching what they eat and exercise.

On the other hand, I find it harder. I don’t have the same fortitude and determination. But I’m working on it….

Winter in Quebec

Snow storm, Quebec winter, snow, cold, ice, Grumble about winter

When winter comes, I grumble …

For approximately 6 years, I’ve been grumbling about winter, the cold, the snow, the ice, the sludge. To put it simply, from November to March, my favorite sport is to have a fire in the fireplace and stay warm while dreaming about beaches and palm threes.

In fact, since our trip to Costa Rica I have been grumbling. (You can read about our trip to Costa Rica here) Before our trip I liked the cold weather….

The dilemma of buying on line

ecommerce, online buying

It’s marvellous

These days it’s so easy to do our all our shopping on line. In the comfort of our home. At any time, day or night. We don’t even have to go out in the cold or when it’s raining and your purchases  magically arrive in a few days later. It’s marvellous.!…

The vegetarian challenge that changed your life

The challenge

If somebody would of told us ten years ago that one day we would be vegetarians, I would of really laughed, I mean this was not in my realm of possibilities.

Mainly because not only at this time did we eat meat, but we also hunted and fished.

It all started when Aggy was in sixth grade, her teacher was absent for a week. No problem there. The dynamic young lady that replaced her launched the vegetarian challenge to the whole class. This challenge consisted of (you guessed it) not eating meat for a complete week…  : -O…

The Christmas magic

Christmas three, gifts

The Christmas magic

I must agree with the majority, Christmas and gift giving or receiving go hand in hand. Everywhere, we see pictures of perfectly decorated   Christmas trees, laden with gaily wrapped gifts. People who received them seem happy, just as if everybody found the perfect gift for everyone. Stores go all out with promotions, sales and incentives to get you to spend your money in their store. The frenzy that comes with the holiday season, that is the magic of Christmas….

A beautiful trip to Costa Rica

Costa Rica beach, travel, sun set

I’m in love…

I’ve always preferred winter to summer. Simply because, during winter, when it’s really cold you can always add another piece of clothing. Compared to summer, when it’s really hot, there comes a time when you can’t remove another piece of clothing. You have come to the end of what you can remove.

I loved to go out in winter, only dressed in a T-shirt when it’s cold outside; I mean very cold and feel the frosty air on my skin… When it’s so cold that you lose your breath when you step out of the house… When you walk outside and the snow crunches under your boots… But all that was before our trip to Costa Rica……

Helllooo!!!!

I’m so glad you stopped by . If this is your first visit, welcome to my universe!

Maybe we know each other in the real world or we’ ll get to know each other in the virtual world.

If we don’t know each other yet, here are some of the words that best describe me or that have a great importance in my life. (Have you ever done this exercise before? It’s a nice challenge to do, you should try it).

Being in a good mood: Because life is too short and it’s too complicated to be in a bad mood… hahahahahaha!!!!

Camping/chalet : where to escape and complete happiness

Environment : It’s so important, we can’t say it enough!

Family: My boyfriend, my son and my daughter. My core, my balance.

Nature: The sun, the wind, the rain, the snow, the trees, the plants, the good weather… the bad weather too. Because it takes a beautiful combination for there to be life.

Sinfulness: Soft ice cream in a waffle cone. It’s heavenly!

Respect: It’s the foundation of everything!

Aging: It’s part of life. It’s a privilege that many people haven’t had.

Travelling: Especially to discover cultures and people, but it often rhymes with sunshine and warmth 😉

That’s what it’s all about! So enjoy your reading and see you soon!
